Snail Mail; Letters, cards, notes and brown paper packages tied up with string…undoubtedly some of my favourite things!
I have always loved the excitement of finding something unexpected in the post box. I have a very special friend over in the UK who, on numerous occasions, surprises me with the most delightful and thoughtful packages – each time they completely make my day! I will also never forgot the time a friend made me a birthday card on which she had created the most incredibly detailed multicoloured collage from various types of paper and then spelt out my name in tiny sequins. It looked amazing and I will never forget how it made me feel. I still have it to this day. Continue reading

Thanks to up-cycling and repurposing trending right now a quick Pinterest search will unearth hundreds of ways to repurpose old doors. I love exploring people’s creative thinking, there are some clever people out there and a few of my favourite repurposed projects are shown above. Fortunately old doors are generally in abundance at recycle or recovery yards and you can usually pick them up quite cheaply.

A creative wall project has been on my radar for some time and I am currently deciding on which wall and what style. I am not personally a huge fan of plain colour block painted feature walls but there is something I love about a wall feature created with art, patterns and exposed textures such bricks, wallpaper, murals and wood etc. If you are in Australia and have watched any of the home reno reality TV shows, such as The Block or House Rules, you will no doubt have noticed the use of these different mediums. I think creating such walls requires taking risks, and the confidence to be bold, but the results are worth it. Here are a collection of ideas I have been admiring, browsing and inspired by. I will keep you posted with my creative wall outcomes!

Do you stick to one defined style for your home? Do you merge multiple styles? One problem faced when you are fascinated obsessed with interior decoration and design is that you really can love and appreciate so many different styles. The possibilities and options are endless. Minimalism, industrial, modern, vintage, luxe, eclectic – they all offer something special for the right space and environment. Some mix, some don’t. Sometimes I will crush over a certain look for a brief moment but then there are certain styles that just always makes me go ‘ooooo and ahhhhh!’ This is how I feel about the Nordic/Scandinavian style. It makes me feel relaxed and calm; it’s one of my absolute faves and I love that it lends itself easily to repurposed or upcycled pieces. I have handpicked some pics for your lusting.
