Hi all in the blogging world. It may only be a matter of weeks but it feels like forever since I have posted. I have been away on holiday and then incredibly busy at work on return – but my mind has been mentally writing posts as I seem to be constantly inspired by surroundings and the beautiful people in my life. A problem I have is that I like to do so many things, and have so many different interests, but feel there is so little time. I am making it a priority to take time out to switch off though and lately I have enjoyed relaxing in beautiful cafes with a coffee and magazine the perfect solution.
Hi all! Recently I have been visiting my family. They are in the middle of renovations and I have had lots of fun helping them to pick colours and key pieces to style their new rooms. They have visitors arriving from overseas soon and more chairs were needed for an outdoor entertaining area. My Mum found these chairs at the tip when dropping off rubbish and knew I’d do something to spruce them up.
Here’s what happened… Continue reading
A creative wall project has been on my radar for some time and I am currently deciding on which wall and what style. I am not personally a huge fan of plain colour block painted feature walls but there is something I love about a wall feature created with art, patterns and exposed textures such bricks, wallpaper, murals and wood etc. If you are in Australia and have watched any of the home reno reality TV shows, such as The Block or House Rules, you will no doubt have noticed the use of these different mediums. I think creating such walls requires taking risks, and the confidence to be bold, but the results are worth it. Here are a collection of ideas I have been admiring, browsing and inspired by. I will keep you posted with my creative wall outcomes!

This morning I was browsing black and gold décor on Pinterest. For the right space, I love this look. It’s luxurious, glamorous and elegant whilst also being bold and striking. I think this look is all about achieving the perfect balance. It’s important to remember that a little bit of gold goes a long way. Too much bling and it becomes cheap and tacky.
With black and gold on my mind I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw this gold platter plate for $1.00 as I walked past my local thrift store this morning. I was excited about it being the right shade of gold. It’s hard to get its true colour in the photo but it’s more of a dull gold as opposed to the tacky yellow looking gold. Continue reading
This is my first post in a category I will refer to as ‘Little Ideas.’ Nothing fancy or complicated just small things that I’ve thought of, had a go at, and created. Maybe they will trigger a little idea or creative spark in you, because sometimes I’ve found from my own experiences, it’s the little things that do.
Materials: Left over peacock green paint from my coffee table project, white spray paint, a small canvas, 15mins…. and a little piece of art is the result! You really could put anything meaningful to you inside the doily shape. I think 3 of these in a row/column would look cute in a nursery or child’s bedroom. Continue reading
Whether you want to call it teal, turquoise, peacock, emerald, seagrass or even bahaman bliss (I’m continuously fascinated by the names on paint chip cards and wonder how they come to get their names!) there is no denying that this colour has been trending for a while. I’m not surprised, it’s beautiful and it complements so many other colours; especially pink, bronze, grey and even bolder colours such as red and yellow, as seen below, work. Continue reading
Lately, on Pinterest, I have been lusting over beautifully styled coffee tables. In most lounge or living areas it’s generally a coffee table that takes centre place in the room. So, it seems reasonable and worthwhile to spend a little bit of time thinking about its presentation and making it a functional but stylish feature. I feel like my coffee table (below) has lacked a little personality for some time so this weekend my mission was to give it a little more life. Continue reading
